Welcome to the Lake Geneva Middle School web site. Our site offers you a snapshot of Lake Geneva Middle School, the home of the “Wolves”. Lake Geneva Middle School opened its doors in August of 1999. The structural design itself is both beautiful and functional. From the welcoming canopy to the state of the art technology, Lake Geneva Middle School meets the diverse needs of over 600 middle level students. As a school committed to the “middle school concept” we serve the learning and developmental needs of the sixth, seventh and eighth grade students of the Joint #1 District. Each grade level supports two “houses” of approximately 110 students. The houses are served by a Team of 4 or 5 core teachers and multiple support staff members. With the majority of a student’s day being spent in their “house”, teachers have an opportunity to be creative with scheduling, form relationships and provide our “wolf pack” a wide variety of learning experiences. When students are not in their houses they are taking advantage of our performing ensembles or the multitude of exploratory classes offered at Lake Geneva Middle School.
Thank you for stopping by our site. Please contact us with any questions, concerns or a friendly “hello."
LGMS Named Exemplary Middle School
On Tuesday, October 27, 2009, State Superintendent Tony Evers commended Lake Geneva Middle School for being named an Exemplary Middle School in Wisconsin based on student academic achievement. The Association of Wisconsin School Administrators (AWSA) and Department of Public Instruction instituted this program in 2007 through AWSA’s Middle Level Commission to recognize the good work that middle schools are doing.
Criteria for this recognition include one or more of the following:
• rapid improvement in reading and/or math scores in the past school year; and/or,
• reading and/or math scores in the top 10% in the past year; and/or,
• rapid improvement in scores in reading and/or math for schools with a high poverty population
This is the second year LGMS has received this award. Kudos to the principals, teachers and students of LGMS
